Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The all manuscripts should be prepared in docx or doc format, using English characters. Make sure your manuscript is accurate and readable.
  • Do not include author information within the text file. Upload the title page as a separate file.
  • Please upload the copyright form when submitting your manuscript.
  • Please upload a cover letter when submitting your manuscript.
  • Check your manuscript’s compliance with general format rules.
  • Make sure your submission is complete, including correct author names, correct affiliations and ORCID numbers.
  • Figures should be submitted as separate files.
  • Attributions in the text should indicate correct references. All references should contain DOI numbers.




  • Make sure you include ethics approval, conflicts of interest, fundigs etc.

Author Guidelines

Pharmedicine Journal provides a platform for scientific contributions in the main disciplines of the pharmacy and basic medical sciences. It publishes papers in English in the fields of pharmaceutical and biomedical sciences. The Journal is published three times a year (January, May and September). All manuscripts submitted for publication are evaluated by the editor-in-chief, field editor, editorial board, and referees with double-blind principles. The journal publishes experimental research articles, review articles and letters to the editor prepared following ethical guidelines in pharmaceutical and biomedical sciences. Previously rejected manuscripts are not allowed to be resubmitted. By submitting a manuscript, an author acknowledges that the work is original and is not being in the submission process for other journals simultaneously. All scientific and legal responsibilities belong to the authors.

The editorial and publication processes of the journal are shaped in accordance with the guidelines of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) and Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the European Association of Science Editors (EASE), and National Information Standards Organization (NISO). The journal conforms to the Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing  (doaj.org/bestpractice).

 

Types of Manuscript

  • Research articles: Original Papers should report data from original research, and they should not exceed 25 printed pages.
  • Reviews: Reviews should be comprehensive, fully referenced expositions of subjects of general interest, including background information and detailed critical analyses of current work in the field and its significance. Review articles have no limitation in length. The editors reserve the right to ask for abbreviation of the text if too excessive.
  • Letters to the Editor: There is limited space for case reports in the journal and reports on rare cases or conditions that constitute challenges in diagnosis and treatment, those offering new therapies or revealing knowledge not included in the literature, and interesting and educative case reports are accepted for publication. The text should be structured as follows: Abstract, Introduction, Case Presentation, Discussion, and Conclusion. 

Manuscript Preparation

Please do not include author information in the main text file. Upload the title page as a separate file.

  • Tittle Page

Title: The title should be concise and informative. It should be written in bold, Times New Roman, 12 points. Abbreviations and formulations should be avoided in the title.

Author Information:

  • Author(s) name and surname
  • The affiliation(s) of the author(s), i.e., institution, department, city, state, country
  • The 16-digit ORCID of the author(s)
  • An active e-mail address of the corresponding author

Abstract

  • The abstract should be organized as follows: introduction, methods, results, and conclusion. Please provide an abstract of 150 to 250 words. The abstract should not contain any undefined abbreviations or unspecified references.

Keywords

  • Please provide 5 keywords (in bold letters) which can be used for indexing purposes.

Text 

  • Body of the text [eg. Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion (This section may be combined with Results), Conclusion, Acknowledgment (in any), Funding, Conflicts of interest, References].  

Text Formatting

  • A4 size and normal margin pages.
  • Use normal, plain font (12-point Times New Roman) for text.

Headings and subheadings must be numbered (e.g. 2., 2.1, 2.1.1). They should be written in bold letters; only the first letter of each heading should be capitalized.

  • The International Code of Zoological Nomenclature (ICZN) must be observed. Genus and species names should be in italics.

Acronyms and Abbreviations

  • Abbreviations and acronyms in the text should be explained in parentticals where the word first appeared and the same abbreviations should be used throughout the entire text.
  • When a drug, product, hardware, or software program is mentioned within the main text, product information, including the name of the product, the producer of the product, and city and the country of the company (including the state if in USA) should be provided in parentheses in the following format: “Discovery PET/CT scanner (General Electric, Milwaukee, WI, USA)”.

Tables

  • Tables must be created in Microsoft Word table format. Each table should be self-explanatory.
  • All tables are to be numbered using Arabic numerals (e.g., Table 1).
  • For each table, please supply a table caption (title) explaining the components of the table.
  • Tables should always be cited in text in consecutive numerical order.
  • Footnotes to tables should be indicated by superscript lower-case letters and included beneath the table body (e.g., a,b, c,).
  • Abbreviations used in the tables should be defined below the tables by footnotes.
  • Indicate units of measurement clearly.

Figures

  • Figures, graphics, and photographs should be given on a separate file (in TIFF or JPEG format) through the submission system. 
  • The minimum resolution of each submitted figure should be 600 DPI. All submitted figures should be high in resolution and large in size (minimum dimensions: 100×100 mm).
  • All figures are to be numbered using Arabic numerals (e.g., Fig 1).
  • Figures should always be cited in text in consecutive numerical order.
  • Each figure should have a concise caption describing accurately what the figure depicts.  Include the captions in the text file of the manuscript, not in the figure file.
  • Figure parts should be denoted by lowercase letters (a, b, c, etc.).

Acknowledgment

  • Acknowledgements should be as brief as possible and placed in separate section after the conclusion, if any. The names of funding organizations should be written in full.

Declarations

  • All manuscripts must contain the following sections under the heading 'Declarations'. If any of the sections are not relevant to your manuscript, please include the heading and write 'Not applicable' for that section.

              Funding (information that explains whether and by whom the research was supported)

               Conflicts of interest (include appropriate disclosures)

               Ethics approval (include appropriate approvals or waivers)

             Author contributions (In absence of specific instructions and in research fields where it is possible to describe discrete efforts, the Publisher recommends authors to include contribution statements in  the work that specifies the contribution of every author in order to promote transparency.)

References

  • Pharmedicine Journal uses the Vancouver citation style. Authors should format references in accordance with the guidance listed below, and in all other cases follow the standards outlined in the National Library of Medicine’s (NLM) Citing Medicine. All references should include DOI links with an https extension.
  • References in text, tables, and legends should be numbered consecutively in the order they are cited in the text using Arabic numbers in parentheses.
  • When multiple references are cited at the same place in the text of a document, use a hyphen to join the first and last references if they are inclusive. Use commas without spaces to separate exclusive references.
  • References should be listed at the end of the paper in numerical order.
  • The list of references should only include works that are cited in the text and that have been published or accepted for publication.
